Bespoke Summerhouses

The Exe Summerhouse

This Summerhouse gives protection from wind & rain with glazed & leaded windows and doors. This example is stained with Olive green on the feather-edged boards and Light Oak on the timber frame. The doors and window frames are finished with boiled linseed oil to embellish the natural tone of the timber.

The windows and doors are hung on brass hinges, whilst the door handles, casement stays and fasteners are antique in style with a satin to matt black finish. The glass, which is fixed with a dry glazing tape and timber beads, can be toughened if requested (important if ball games are likely to take place in the vicinity!). The design of lead on the glass can also be tailored to suit a particular preference.

The option to slate or tile the roof is available; re-claimed items are usually employed, but new tiles or slates can be used if preferred. From inside the summerhouse the attractive rafter formation and underside of the slates or tiles can be appreciated. However, for additional protection roofing felt can be applied underneath the slate/tile battens.

A decorative finial, to 'top-off' the roof, can be fitted.
